A few more pictures, random assortment.
Nice view from the top of a mountain whose name I don't remember, in the Dandenong Mountains. Reminded me periodically - other than the very different trees (and now I wish I'd taken any pictures at all of a gum tree from up close) - of the New Hampshire White Mountains.

On the way out of the Dandenongs, a whole bunch of treeferns.

In one of the many, many parks in Melbourne, the flower clock.

On the way back to the CBD (central business district, aka city center) from the walk on which I took the above picture, a shot showing just how small the CBD really is. Unfortunately, I took no pictures illustrating the amazingly (and pleasantly) wide streets and sidewalks in the CBD, nor any showing that most buildings not in the CBD are a single story high. Space is good!

Finally, because it amuses me, a picture of the shot tower (which has a museum, and the gesturing screen mentioned in the link did not love me) in the middle of the mall at the Melbourne Central stop in the CBD. (it's there for historic preservation reasons)
