Random bits of glee:

(mostly also posted to [livejournal.com profile] bits_of_bliss)

-Unexpected sweet potato!
-Nurse figuring out how to make blood being drawn not be painful the whole damn time (yay, pedeatric needles! Silly small veins of mine)
-Kitty on my lap lots of yesterday (he didn't used to be a lap kitty; working from home and having had no couch appears to have adjusted this)
-Being able to help people out that I care about
-hot chocolate
-remembering to use my light box first thing in the morning

Unexpected sweet potato!

I like that phrase. In addition to the pleasant surprise element, my brain is imagining it as a silly term of endearment.

I like that. I will have to provide unexpected sweet potatoes again.

*chuckle* Nifty!

And yes, I can see it as both an actual unexpected sweet potato and a term of endearment. :)

I make it a point to compliment any lab tech who can slide the needle in and draw painlessly. It's an art, and some are quite blessed. Others, less so...

It seems to not be solely about technique, with me, but about the size of the needle used. Pediatric needles being the size for kids, not adults, and that being the difference this time. I've _never_ had needles not hurt while in me when blood is being drawn.

Speaking of unexpected sweet roots, I learned yesterday that the local No Frills (that's trademarked up here) supermarket near Carol's place sells all kinds of interesting things not found in most US grocery stores, such as yuca root and some sweet potato varieties I am not familiar with (and lots more. I guess these are the benefits of living in an areas with lots of native Asians.)
