The trees are insufficiently green. Naked trees make it difficult to believe in Springtime!

Must remember to bring bags with me on walks, so instead of being annoyed by trash on the ground, I can pick it up and thow it away later.

Odyssey of the Mind - _that's_ what I was part of in junior high! Neat stuff.

Because now I'm curious, I offer you the example my mom gave me of a fluid reasoning-based qeustion. (it does require not already having run into it before, mind)

[Poll #1168310]

Ok, back to work.

[edit: There is no 'right answer'. Indeed, I suspect that this is part of a hallmark of a test of fluid reasoning, that there is not one]

Y'know, I wasn't actually trying to frustrate you lot with that poll.

There is no 'right' answer; indeed, I suspect that that very lack is part of the point.

That was the hardest question taken from the fluid intelligence part of the most commonly used adult intelligence test. Which my mom (a school psych) noted does not necessarily mean it's the _best_ intelligence test, of course, but is a question she uses to help explain fluid reasoning when in meetings about kids she's working with.

The speed and confidence parts were added by me. And perhaps I should not have, as that may have encouraged the belief in a 'right' answer.

Clearly I should have been more clear about there not being a 'right' answer. *wry*

Also? Y'all have _really cool_ answers. (including those of you whose answers were in comments. Indeed, in some cases, especially those who did, as then I got more of a view into how you got there)

Just wanted to share my glee. :)

(also, it's neat watching the answers, because it gives interesting views into where people's brains go)

Because today I am posty!

Also because today is apparently "how to make a [livejournal.com profile] wispfox Really Want To Travel" day.

And clearly I need to go check out Sacramento's local wildlife rescue center/native animal zoo at some point.

You know, I'd kinda forgotten that I am less hungry (in all senses of the word) in Winter.

I kinda dislike nearly always being hungry. Clearly I need to be eating more... and I seriously need to replenish my snack food supply at work, since I just finished my rice cakes.

*ravenous*

Give to me the foooooood! I wonder if I have any granola bars in my bag...
