Ash's abdominal tumor had metastasized to many of his internal organs, causing him to slow and eventually stop his food and water intake. I learned this earlier today, as an ultrasound was done to figure out what was going on with him, and once it was determined that it had spread that far, it seemed that the best choice was to let him go.
We just got back from putting him to sleep. I'm going to miss him.

I think one of the hardest things I've ever had to do was leave his body at the vet's. He _hates_ the vet.
But he was purring before he died. And he'd been happy living with me.
And I'm kinda glad, in some respects, that my wrists have kept me out of work. It meant I'd been home a lot more with him.
